Subject title: Oky 2.0 Still Doesn't Have to Be Perfect.

So my old sketchbook sadly disappeared. Fortunately, I have all the old art saved elsewhere. Not sure yet if I want to repost it, but I'll use this thread to post new stuff.

Let's start off with some character sketches. They were plenty of fun to make.

Thank Koz :). Yeah, I'll make some more probably. They are very helpful in teaching me about character design. Actually, here are a couple more.

Dense foliage is so difficult. If anyone knows about a digital artist who does this well, please let me know!

Just starting to test animation out. I want this in my repertoire. Just imagine what it'd look like if I spent time fleshing this out.

I found a digital artist who handles foliage really well, it's Oky :)

Check out Jonas De Ro for foliage. He does it well and also has a very useful brush pack for everything related to environments.

Thanks Fantelle! :D I actually used that brushpack for parts of my paintings, but I have totally missed out on studying his actual method. I should probably do that.

If anyone wonders why I paint so much vegetation right now, it's because I'm currently in the middle of a forest. Great opportunity to practice.

Couldn't sleep last night and realized that I had to create some characters. I grabbed my tablet which was set to a low resolution. Perfect.

I really like this one, and I'm hoping to develop her design at some point in the future. After drawing a couple characters I slept well.

I love the forest stuff, but that last one looks a bit too fake with the plaster leaf brush on everything. It'll look better with some variation as nature is not perfect. But otherwise, some really great stuff here an your eye for detail is quite astounding. I wouldn't have the patience for the trees and foliage xD

Thanks a lot for the input! :D I was experimenting with methods, so I'm happy to hear what doesn't work. Next time, I'll tone down the textures and focus on the brushwork again.

Also, don't sell yourself short on detail! Your figure drawings are way more sophisticated than anything I can cook up. :)

When increasing realism, a lot of the expressiveness of more cartoony styles seems to disappear. Though perhaps the solution is practice.

The pentel pocket brush lives up to the hype. I recommend it.
