Hmm... I think your portraits will look better with some more directional lighting instead of ambient lighting. You'll get more shadows which will really pop out the faces more. Right now things look kinda flat. Even if you don't have studio lighting, all you need is a room with a north facing window. It'll give you great lighting for modeling the face.

The traditionals look great, just measure your proportions carefully, you don't want to lose likeness. Anyways, keep up the hard work o.-

Hey man, I really like your traditional stuff. It feels like there is a little bit of soul in there. I feel like a lot of my art lacks that so it's refreshing to see.

school starts again for me tomorrow, so I'm not sure when I'll be able to devote myself to bigger projects again. However, I've been planning to do a Skyfall fanart-piece with white chalk on black cardboard...

Lol, I like how her boobs are right in the crosshair for the Rule of Thirds . No need to beat around the bush eh? Anyways, you might want to consider balancing the visual weight on the left and the right side of the image. Although, that might not be important for this image. Instead of going for eye flow around the image, maybe you just want the eyes to focus on the elf. But yea, just something to consider if you decide to move on with the image. Also, I think her hands might be a bit too long. I usually try to size the hand going from the bottom of the chin to where the hairline starts.

Good work, a tradional work can be framed and sold, also prints made, with digital there's no "original! :ugeek:p.s. what's all this course paper in Europe, I prefer smooth generally

I'm not sure yet on how to compose the elf-piece... But yeah, looks like my anatomy practice payed off :D

I usually use smooth paper, I just ran out of it ;)

I need some opinions on her face. I don't know what it is, but something bothers me about it...

So heres what I've been up to:

(I'm sorry... seems like I'm just to lazy to get up and take some decent pictures or at least a decent scan, but I'll promise to upload them on my portfolio in a few days. Also, my phone camera tends to distort the image so that may cause a weird look sometimes.)

RDJ charcoal drawing
my first attempt at drawing with charcoal that didn't end in me burning the stuff :D
I messed up the eyes though...
Image

W.I.P: 007 on black cardboard
Drawing on a dark surface using white chalk is kind of a pain in the ass, but still a lot of fun. I'll probably finish this tomorrow and I'm actually pretty satisfied on how it came out so far. What do you think?

i think the hand is huge, but it may just be a picture taken at an angle....

The way you are taking the pictures of your traditionals are crazy. Are you using a pricy camera to take the pictures? Really digging that elf drawing of yours!

I like the batman painting very much.To make your paintings better I'd suggest defining the shape and values better.
