Hi. This is my art.
I do not like some of it,
but I try my best.

(A haiku by me)

Critiques are appreciated and welcome.

The first thing that catched my eyes were the lips, I think they're done well, tho you should have spent more time on rendering the image. Looks good though, you will definitely improve if you keep practicing!

Doesn't count as a face for a day, but november 1st is "self-portrait day".

An icon I made for myself a while ago.. Not too many details because I then shrunk it to 100x100 pixels

The only thing I notice that are off with the portraits are the ears and eyebrows XD I think you should spend some time studying the anatomy of the face, and try and incorporate an element of realism in your work. Love the tiger O:!

Thank you! Yeah, eyebrows really confuse me :/

Oooh, lovely shades there. And the soft edges are beautiful. But I think it needs a bit more sharpness to some of the edges to balance out that softness. Perhaps a bit more contrast on the actual skull itself too?

Okay, I'll take that into consideration the next time I try a skull :)

You are going in the right direction! Keep drawing skulls. From different angles, at first from reference, then from memory, then repeat until you remember. I used this site for this not so long ago. Draw yourself more while thinking about skull. You can draw from different angles too and even use your hands. Brows and cheek areas can be tricky, I was struggling with them too (and keep struggling :) ). I can say that doing this practices on paper was easier for me than digitally for some reason.
Also, 1 a day is nice, but don't stop there. Be sure to do more when you are comfortable with it. For now it's better to do ten little faces on a page than one full rendered. You can ignore that advice though :) Go with your pace, just keep going.

In January, I started working real hard. Unfortunately, I just copied what I saw, and didn't learn almost anything.

as you can see, I wasn't drawing enough, or small enough.

I had emailed sycra for help. he told me to start with skeletons, so I did
after all this, i decided to learn HOW to learn... and studied form, anatomy, ect.

pardon the upside-down and side-ways pictures.

Painting practice. The back leg was, for some reason, very difficult for me. It humbled me and reminded me that I need to practice my anatomy... i really should do that more often..

Added more (much needed) shading, and watched some of sycra's shading videos. They're great.

Oh snap, nice vibrant colors. If I could make a suggestion: Try to be a less hesitant and fuzzy with your brushstrokes. I know it might seem somewhat intimidating at first, but it'll help you out so much in the long run. Both from a speed and craftsmanship perspective.
Keep updating!
