These of course are a little more finished, but I throw all my stuff on here, not just "sketches."

Thank you! I know it's not really "sketchbook-y" but I treat this place more as an area to show my process and final work, whatever medium it may be in.

Critique this! http://sycra.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=67743

A project for class. We had to do a piece inspired by the artifacts we saw in a dinnerware museum we went to. This work was inspired by the radioactive cups Fiestaware did in the mid 1900s.

First..Those are some lovely colors on the last couple of pieces! srsly they look great :D

Now for the critique. Ill try my best...with what i know. So first. I love that smoke coming from the cup. It looks very nice. Also from what I can see is that you when for a more simplistic feel for the piece. The only thing I can personally say about the piece is about the composition. To me personally it feels a bit...lacking and a bit boring. I'm not the most knowledgeable i terms of composition since I havent studied it much at all as of yet but I would suggest to maybe play around with it a little bit. The piece also feels a bit lacking in contrast. I feel like some areas could be darker than they are. For example right under the cup. Also in terms of highlights since to me it feels like you wanted to use the grey-ish on the rim of the cup for highlights but then you used an even more white shade in the background. So adding a couple of lighter highlights on the cup will help to bring it out a bit more. The actual plate the cup is sitting on is also a bit flat to me, it seems although its almost just a shape and not much of a 3D object. Personally I quite like the contrast of the color used in the cup and the surrounding background. It does help to draw the eye to the cup. Very nice colors on the cup as well :D

I hope this helps...I know I'm the greatest artist out there but I tried to point out what I could see or kinda feel out. I'm looking forward to more pieces from you though :D Keep up the good work!

Thanks so much! I've gotten so much great feedback on this.

So I voted the other day. The experience was pretty underwhelming and I'm just happy it's over.

Your stuff is so expressive, I love it. I really like the piece about finding the devil inside, very intense.
