Welcome to the forums! I'm pretty new myself.

Some nice sketching going on. I would, though, suggest paying attention to the shapes you use for your eyes. Some look kinda wonky.

I'll work on the eye shapes. Have any suggestions on what would help with drawing the shape more correctly?

Work on using the same oval with a circle within, just confine in an arc to show its placement on the face. I am not saying all eyes are slanted in this direction, but this is a better way for symmetry.

You have a really cool style! It reminds me a bit of a mashup between Aaah! Real Monsters and an adult swim show, the name of which isn't coming to mind right now.

Keep up the sketching! I'm there with you in the trying to draw every day camp. :)

Perspective is killing me.
Feeling pretty frustrated lately.

Just a quick update, I have been drawing everyday except for two days. I feel kind of directionless atm though, maybe someone could help point me in the right directiong? I'm trying to get form down, going to practice for a couple of months. I will post the stuff I've done recently later tonight.

Hi there, you seem to be really determined =) I´m not sure what exactly yuo are looking for, but maybe check out ctrlpaint.com, or drawabox.com? Especially on ctrlpaint, there are some good and short instructional videos on basic things and also some assignments to do so you can practice it. If you write more specifically what you want to learn it would be easier to help you out =) are you working on your basic construction skills or do you want to learn something more specific? =)

I guess my problem is I'm not sure when I should start working on some new skill? I am working on my form construction now, yes. I ultimately want to be able to animate but that is a long way away from where I am. I guess I don't really know if it's okay to draw faces and such if my form isn't solid yet? Should I only be practicing drawing 3d shapes and not faces at all or can I work on them both at the same time? I'm also not able to devote too much time a day atm (about an hour) rather than the ideal amount of time(8+ hours) because of school and personal life.

Here is a dump of everything I've done since I last updated. Going to start posting every night again so it doesn't build up like this. A lot of these are just practicing circles, I'll probably omit them in the future but I want to have them tonight just to show that I was doing this now.

even an hour is good if you really practice ;) I think there shouldn´t be any problem with practicing forms and faces at the same time if you take it as excersise of applying those forms =) And doing only inanimate shapes over and over again can be a bit dull, so you need something to keep you interested anyways =) little advice: when you practice doing circles and other shapes, try to do as few lines as possible, it will help you tu build confidence with your lines and your drawings will be more clear later on. It´s good to practice it in the early stages than trying to get rid of mesy lines later =)

Thanks for the encouragement, I will work on having more confident lines. Looking forward to getting better!

Just a quick update, I am still drawing and more so recently than in the past. I am mostly just practicing form and trying to make 3d shapes. I plan on working on this for a month or so. After form I plan on working on perspective for a month or two. WOOO! I will post stuff when I have more than just circles and ellipses.

Moe: nice to meet you! I really like your gestures quite a bit!
